About the book (from Amazon):
There are two sides to every story: yours and mine, ours and theirs, his and hers. Which means someone is always lying.
When a woman is murdered in Blackdown, a quintessentially British village, newsreader Anna Andrews is reluctant to cover the case. Detective Jack Harper is suspicious of her involvement, until he becomes a suspect in his own murder investigation.
Someone isn’t telling the truth, and some secrets are worth killing to keep.
His & Hers is a twisty, smart psychological thriller. A gripping tale of suspense, told by expertly drawn narrators that will keep listeners guessing until the very end.
My thoughts:
This audiobook pulled me into the story very quickly. I have only listed to a few audiobooks so far and I am finding them to be a wonderful way to fit reading into a very busy schedule! I have two children 5 and under with another on the way and I desperately miss having time to lose myself in the book. An audiobook is an excellent compromise. I can listen for a few minutes here and there throughout the day while doing dishes, making dinner, folding laundry, or running errands. I love it!
Back to this audiobook: I found myself listening to this wonderful book as often as I could. It had quite a few twists and turns and I honestly did not expect the ending. I pride myself in being able to call an ending, but this one had me till the last chapter. The audiobook version also adds a wonderful feature of being read by two different people so you can easily envision the two sides of this story being told and you do not get confused when it switches between them. There are not many books that I would recommend listening to over reading, but this one was so well done that I highly recommend that avenue!
The story itself was well written and keeps your attention throughout. The mystery is compelling and even when you think you may have it figured out, it surprises you. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good mystery and enjoys a whodunnit with a twist.
I give this audiobook 5 stars.
